Generative video using body tracking and stream diffusion

Postures is a generative video project that began with observations of individuals interacting with their phones in public spaces. I noticed the range of unconscious postures people adopt while scrolling or taking photos, gestures that often appear awkward yet have become part of our everyday physical vocabulary. To explore these behaviours, I filmed people in public settings and used the footage as data. Through TouchDesigner and MediaPipe, I tracked skeletal body points in real time. These were then translated into tree-like forms using a Stream Diffusion model, drawing a metaphor between organic growth and digital habits. Like trees bending toward light, bodies curve toward screens, shaped by invisible external forces. The result is a series of short videos, where each posture becomes a generative, evolving tree, a visual language that reveals how our physical selves are silently transformed by technology.
