The “Confluence” project is an immersive art installation set in
a vast, dark room. The spacious, high-ceilinged room creates an
atmosphere of intimacy and mystery. At the center of this space,
an imposing U-shaped metal structure rises up, reminiscent of
the arches of a viaduct. This resplendent golden structure acts
as a giant mirror, reflecting not only the video projected on
the ceiling, but also the spectators seated within.
This installation captures the essence of the original site, the
Combe Maran viaduct at St-Ursanne in the canton of Jura. The
video reveals the symbiosis between nature and human
construction, showing how harmoniously they coexist.
Viewers are invited to settle into the curve of the structure,
lie down or adopt any position that allows them to fully
appreciate the ceiling projection. The importance of spatial
perception and body position is emphasized, with each spectator
becoming a central player in the interaction between the two
worlds.
The reflection of spectators and projection in the arch
accentuates the idea of union, creating new dimensions and
visual perspectives through the materiality of the structure.
